About the Opportunity:
We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join Icon Water’s Infrastructure Delivery team (2 year opportunity) delivering capital and major maintenance projects. Icon Water is currently augmenting its delivery capacity across the Engineering program to enable a generational upgrade of the ACT’s water infrastructure, which will ensure Icon Water can continue to meet the needs of the Canberra community.

About your new role
Reporting to a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination of project activities associated with achieving objectives on electrical, instrumentation, monitoring and control (EIMC) renewals and other multi-disciplined, multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects. Your work will include liaison with stakeholders, engagement and management of design consultants and construction contractors, production of funding and statutory approval documentation, reporting on progress and performance.
What are we looking for in our ideal candidate?
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (or related).
- Knowledge and a minimum of three years’ experience, although five to 10 years would be considered favourably, with:
- site safety in the construction industry;
- established project management methodologies;
- delivering EIMC projects with a background in contracting, consultancy or client-side management; and
- procurement and contract management.
- Highly organised, problem-solving and outcomes focused individual
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to network and influence a variety of stakeholders.

- Experience with developing tender documentation, including technical requirements, returnable schedules and undertaking tender evaluations.
- Experience in the management of contracts, including different forms of contract, variations and requests for information.
- Experience with project delivery on construction sites, including safety management and quality control.
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and prioritise tasks to meet timeframes, problem solve and resolve issues, identify and implement improvements and positively influence project outcomes with a variety of inter-team and external personnel.
