Looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same?
Join our team at the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre, where you'll play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure that supports wastewater treatment services for our community. This is an exciting opportunity for a safety-focused and motivated maintenance professional who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and being part of a close-knit team.
About the Role:
As a Maintenance Operator, you'll be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance activities across our treatment plant to ensure equipment and processes continue to operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you'll contribute to the ongoing operation of one of the region's most important environmental assets.
What You'll be doing:
Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment
Coordinate and complete maintenance tasks while balancing operational priorities
Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and system updates
Participate in a 24/7 on-call roster to support critical breakdown response activities
Identify hazards, contribute to risk assessments, and maintain a strong safety culture
Work in accordance with quality, environmental, and safety management systems
Collaborate with a skilled team to support the reliable operation of the facility
What You'll Bring: You are a reliable and self-motivated maintenance professional who takes pride in working safely and delivering high-quality outcomes.
As well as:
Experience working safely in an industrial environment
Experience handling and working with chemicals safely
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and within a team
Good written and verbal communication skills
Basic computer skills for reporting, data entry, and maintenance management systems
A commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement
A current ACT Class C Driver Licence (or equivalent)
